Ground Breaking Decision

I apologize for being M.I.A. lately. I am completely slacking on not only my blog but the preparation of the wedding itself. Maybe it’s too early in the process to get excited. Maybe I’ll get into it more six months from now. I don’t know. Well, here is my latest decision….

I did it. I actually made a decision (cue the cheesy inspirational music)! Michael and I went to Robert B Meyer’s Reception Center, located conveniently off the parkway, Exit 116 (PNC Arts Center). It was a major step in this whole process of planning.

It has now been almost a year since we got engaged and it has taken us this long to actually do something about it. I first had to call the church and make sure they can marry us on the date we wanted (or thought we wanted). We originally had a date of September 15th, 2007. That soon switched to Sept. 29th (at the PNC place), then it was Sept. 22nd at The English Manor. (We just kept holding places to see which one would suit us better.) After a dry spell of actually looking, we decided we had to decide.

So…how many of you can say you weren’t into the planning process of the whole wedding thing? I know I can. At least in the beginning I am. I looked at (excuse me...) WE looked at two, read ‘em only TWO reception sites and we actually decided on one. Well, decided is such a confident word. Lets say we-stopped-having-time-or-interest-in-looking-and-settled-on a reception hall. Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely on top of our list of favorite, slash, convenient locales. It’s also elegant and simple on the inside. Just the way I wanted it to be. Plus my parents were down a few weeks ago so they were able to see it. They approved. I just really feel like there is no time! I work all the time and if I’m not working it’s because I have some family or friend event to go to. The way I figured it, every place you look at has its pros and cons. You have to give in a little. I think we made a great decision.

A year from November 17th, Michael and I will be saying our vows and starting our lives together as husband and wife.

Now here we are, down payments are made, dates are set, and places are reserved. Let the fun begin!
