Michael and I decided last minute that we were going to "pop the question" Saturday night to our best friends. Melissa is my best friend and Mikey is his best friend and it just so happens they are married...to each other. (Yes, the met through us, and were boyfriend/girlfriend first, said "I love you" first, got engaged first and were the first to officially tie the knot. That's okay though, I am a procrastinator.)
The pictures are of Michael and Mikey when they were about 6. They've been best friends ever since. Mel and I met in high school freshman year. We didn't start hanging out until Junior year but once we did, we quickly became best friends. That photo was taken at a high school spring dance and we were being goofy, as always!
Anyway, we took them out to dinner that night, nothing fancy, Mel's husband happen to mention Friday's and I happen to be craving Jack Daniel's Chicken, perfect, no indecisiveness here, so off we went, with cards in hand.
I went online, scanned and downloaded some old photos of the guys when they were little and Mel and I in high school. I made personalized cards that read "Will you be my maid of honor/best man?"
Once we got seated, we couldn't wait any longer. I didn't even know what to say, I just handed them the cards. They both kinda knew it was coming I think but they got a kick out of it. I was happy, as was Michael because now he can "finally plan his bachelor party". He has been bugging me to get those cards made for weeks. He can now talk to his friend about it, thank goodness. He has this whole hiking/water rafting or something outdoorsy thing planned. I would like to go into the city and see a show or something. Nothing crazy, just fun. But that's a story of another blog.
Oh, and just an FYI, they did say "Yes".
