I got home this morning at 3am! I was ex-haust-ed. Literally. I was a first time wedding assistant in NY yesterday. I woke up at 5am, went to photographer Berit's house by 830am and we left for the city by 9. We were on our feet all day, I will never look at a wedding the same way. I guess I never really considered how structured they were to being with. Timing, everything is timing. Overall, I thought it was a great night. The bride was gorgeous, as was the rest of the bridal party. I got some nice ideas for wedding songs as well as colors for the bridesmaids.
This morning Michael left for the gym at 830, I was in and out of consciousness at this point because I hear him putter around the house and I'm still exhausted. At one point, I hear him walk into the bedroom and I had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to get up. I was still half asleep when I asked him to "stay near the equipment while I use the restroom". I woke up and busted out laughing that I was still dreaming of Sat. night. Talk about lasting impressions.

Happy Heart Day!

Michael is away this week. He started Police-Boot-Camp. He is in training to become a corrections officer. Three months, that is how long he will be away. Well, he comes home on weekends, and he is only in Sea Girt but still..it feels like he was away in Iraq, only better. You see, We live together, and I think I really like our little "breaks"! Seriously, I miss him a lot and can't wait to see him again, but once in a while, I need to "just be". Some friends think I'm crazy (maybe I am), because I like the peace and quiet once in a while but the truth is..this is cake. He's less than an hour away, calls almost every night and comes home on weekends...AND it's only for three months. He's not in a war zone, risking his life, night and day, thousands of miles away, not being able to call until random hours/days...after that, we can handle anything.
Happy Valentine's Day, Lovey!
See you soon.

"Top 10 Reasons I Procrastinate, #1...."

I don’t know how most brides complete the task of asking friends/family to be a part of the bridal party but I think I may have taken the long way. I made up these really nice cards. I personalized each one with photos of my friend/cousin and myself when we were little. On the inside I put a simple greeting “Michael and I are getting married this year. Will you be my bridesmaid?” I did the same for Michael’s friends. So, I have these cards, I gave some out (to the family/friends I have seen recently) but not all. I didn’t even mail them yet. My mom keeps telling (yelling) “mail them NOW! They need to know!” I am such a procrastinator.
I was at the gym the other day, and overheard someone say she was getting married in the summer of next year and she already has her bridesmaids, their dresses as well as hers! I am getting married in less than a year and still have not asked all of the would-be bridal party!
There’s something wrong with this picture. I need to get on the ball!
